The Art of drinking – The Bridge Collection
Quench your thirst for knowledge with 9000 years of History
A JOURNEY THROUGH THE DRINKING RITUAL
The Art of Drinking includes more than 2,500 artefacts from The Bridge Collection and others. The museum explores the rituals and customs of civilizations through their connection to drinking spanning 9000 years. From prehistoric terracotta vessels to contemporary glassware, each object in the collection tells a unique story about our ancestors' rituals, traditions and ways of life.
On display, you will find artifacts that narrate tales of gods, warriors, queens and emperors. Some witnessed pivotal battles, while others have been adorned with precious metals. Some date back to such ancient times that they predate the written word, while other more contemporary ones even glow in the dark.
Through the display and collection, the whole story of man kind’s use of alcoholic beverages for ritual, religious, commemoration and celebration purposes is told. Cheers to that!
