Artists and styles
Klaudio Hoshai, a professional musician born in Angola. Singer and song writer, internationally recognised for his hit ‘PióPió’, a must-have song on Kizomba and Semba dance floors all over the world. He recently released the single ‘Emigrou’, which has seen a surge in popularity, mainly due to the sensitive subject matter it addresses. Considered by many to be Angola's most promising voice at the moment, he has been touring Europe for 18 consecutive months, with two stops in Cape Verde as well. He took on this project at WOW, where he curates the music and performs Angolan and Cape Verdean classics in the styles of semba, kizomba, morna, coladeira, zouk and others.
Lilian Raquel and Cláudio César Ribeiro have released three albums and represent the essence of the great masters of Brazilian music, masterfully moving between bossa nova, Brazilian popular music and new Brazilian popular music. Their performances are marked by unique and expressive interpretations, as well as a sophisticated poetic-musical concept, reflected in the original compositions they create and interpret.
Purple Radio comes to WOW to interpret classic themes from the pop, rock and soul universes, spicing them up with a blues-funk flavour. All through the voice of Inês Martins and the guitar of Tiago Enrique. Musical moments in which the audience feels invited to participate in the choruses, which are part of the collective imagination.
Rui David is a performer and composer with a deep connection to Portuguese music. In 2018 he took part in the National Song Contest with the theme ‘Contraluz’ by Jorge Palma, followed by the single ‘Homem Novo’, with lyrics and music by Carlos Tê, and then the anthem ‘Sol da Primavera’, composed and performed in duet with Manel Cruz. More recently, he released an acoustic version of the song ‘Ateneu’, a duet with Miguel Araújo. At WOW, he performs Portuguese music of the highest calibre, including some intervention themes from the past and present.
Miss Jones is Joana Manarte's stage name. She began her professional career about 20 years ago, in Porto, with a career that has encompassed the most diverse musical genres - jazz, Brazilian popular music, soul, funk, tango and world music.
After taking part in various artistic projects in the fields of music and theatre, Joana created ‘Miss Jones’ in 2023 - a singer who immerses herself in the classic atmosphere of jazz, blues and soul. At WOW she will be accompanied on piano by Bernardo Ribeiro.
