"Understanding"

Aimed to people who have little or no previous knowledge of wine. It is designed to provide a solid but simple introduction to wine.

The qualification will help those who need a basic understanding of the main types and styles of wine, for example people who work with wines as part of a wider drinks offer in the retail and hospitality sectors.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:‍

• Learn about the main stages of grape growing and winemaking;
• Learn about the types, characteristics and styles of wines made from the main grape varieties and other examples of wines;
• Know the fundamental principles and practices of storing and serving wine.
