A unique exhibition, created exclusively for WOW
With BrickWorld, WOW offers the city a universe of fantasy for adults who remember the children they once were, and who inspire the child within us all. An extraordinary journey built from dreams, LEGO® bricks, memories and creativity.
This exclusive exhibition has never been presented elsewhere and was conceived and installed especially for the Museu Atkinson. Among the dozens of works on display are several constructions dedicated to the city of Porto, including a 2.3-metre-high Clerigos Tower, Livraria Lello and Porto Cathedral, as well as a traditional Rabelo boat featuring the sail of the Port wine house Taylor’s.
Visitors can also admire a Medieval Castle, along with characters from renowned science fiction sagas and scenes inspired by iconic cinematic productions. A dedicated room showcases much-loved figures from the worlds of The Simpsons®, Indiana Jones® and Tim Burton®.
An official celebration of the LEGO® community
The exhibition is presented in collaboration with Associação Legango and Comunidade 0937, ensuring the highest level of authenticity, detail and passion in every build. Each BrickWorld scene goes far beyond assembled bricks. These are immersive worlds created by builders who never stopped being children. Adult Fans of LEGO® (AFOLs), who once built castles and galaxies on the living room floor, now transform those memories into epic journeys to share with us all.
BrickPlay: a space to create, play and imagine
At the end of the exhibition, younger visitors are invited to enjoy BrickPlay, a dedicated children’s area featuring tables filled with LEGO® bricks for free building and creative play. There will also be a separate zone for younger children, using only larger DUPLO®-style bricks, as well as a family selfie spot to capture the moment.
A complete experience for the whole family
At the end of the route, visitors are invited to explore an exclusive shop offering LEGO® sets, official LEGO® merchandise and products from the Atkinson Museum. With so much to see and discover, WOW invites everyone to spend a full day in the cultural quarter, beginning with the BrickWorld exhibition and continuing through its museums, restaurants and other experiences, including a themed brunch inspired by the LEGO® universe, making WOW a complete destination for families.
Workshop: “Create Your Own Chocolate Brick”
To make the experience even more memorable, WOW presents the workshop “Create your own chocolate brick”, inviting children aged 5 to 12 to unleash their imagination. Lasting 60 minutes, the workshop is available as part of a combined exhibition + workshop ticket and is designed to stimulate the creativity of younger visitors.
